  5. Then choose the New Extender Setup tab next.
  6. A set of terms and conditions will appear on your screen. Click on Agree to accept these terms and conditions.
  7. Then, select your Netgear wifi extender’s login details. These details are utilized for accessing the wifi extender’s admin settings on a browser. 
  8. It is usually recommended that you enter the username as ‘admin’ and password the same as your wireless network’s password.
  9. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose 2 security questions. These security questions help you to get into your account in case you forget your login details.

  13. Choose the network names and passwords for your wifi extender. The default name for your 2.4 GHz band is _2GEXT and the 5 GHz band is _5GEXT. And the default passkey for each band is the same as your wireless network password.
  14. Then tap on the next button to save the extender settings you have made. This process of saving might take up to a few moments. 
  15. The Netgear wifi extender will showcase your SSID and password for both frequency bands. Keep a note of these credentials.
  16. Navigate to the wifi settings of the PC device or smartphone from which you want to establish a connection to the extender’s extended network.
  17. Finally, go back to the web browser and tick the checkbox at the bottom of the web page and tap on the ‘Continue’ tab to complete the Netgear wifi extender setup.

  1. From a computer system or mobile phone that is connected to the  Netgear wifi extender’s extended network. Open the web browser you use the most.
  2. Type the www.mywifiext.net or mywifiext.net web address in the web browser and hit the enter button.
  3. In case the web address is not responsive, enter the IP address 192.168.1.3 into the web browser’s address bar.
  4. Hit the enter button after that and you will be directed to the login page of the Netgear wifi extender.
  5. Enter the username and password into the designated fields and press the login tab to proceed. After this, the status page displays on the screen.
  6. Now if your web browser shows the Menu icon select it by clicking on it.
